Bumsso Forever.

It has been forever since I last posted a blog. The truth, I’ve just been very lazy. Haha.

And I’m being super lazy again because I’m keeping this post short. I’m only updating to share some of my recent Bumsso (Kim Bum & Kim So Eun) fan videos I’ve made. I wrote a lengthy post about this couple a while back. It was just my theory on if this couple will ever have another Kdrama again. You can find it on my blog if you’re interested in reading it.

Despite what may be going on in Kim Bum and So Eun’s personal lives, I will forever love Bumsso. I don’t know why. There’s just something about this couple which is hard for me to move on from. Or you can watch my video above and perhaps you’ll understand why. Haha.

My Top 5 Favorite Studio Ghibli films

I’ve been watching Studio Ghibli films for 20+ years now. The first Studio Ghibli film I saw was My Neighbor Totoro back in the mid-90s and have been a fan since then. I’ve enjoyed pretty much every Studio Ghibli films I’ve seen. Recently, I did a marathon of the films and thought I’ll share my favorite Studio Ghibli films I’ve seen so far. 😀 So if you’re not interested, u can stop reading now. I was going to make a Top 20 Studio Ghibli film, but I’m too lazy. So I’ll just cut it short and go to my top 5.

5. Only Yesterday

^The scene is this pic above, I freaking love it! LOL! Whenever I eat a pineapple, I always think of this scene. Only Yesterday is about a single, 27 yrs old girl named Taeko that lives and works in the city. During her vacation, she decided to visit her brother-in-law’s family in the countryside to get away from the city life. On her visit, she reminisced about her childhood when she was still a little girl and had to dealt with her first crush, period, and the relationship of her parents and 2 older sisters. I have never seen a slice of life (drama) animated like this ever. I just love how everything seem so realistic, even the characters’ facial expression seem real.

I’m a person that enjoy reminiscing, so I can relate to Taeko. Although I thought the ending was very sweet and mention how realistic this story is, it was probably the only part I wish was the most real. Not sure if that made sense but I don’t want to spoil anything. 😛

4. My Neighbor Totoro

The first film I recommend friends that has never seen any Studio Ghibli film to watch. I’m sure I’m not the only one that watching My Neighbor Totoro brings back childhood memories. My family used to own the FOX VHS version. I like this version more than the new Disney one.

3. Castle in the Sky

The first Studio Ghibli film, Castle in the Sky is full of non-stop action about a girl named Sheeta that has an ancestors called Laputa, who build a castle….in the sky!? Actually, it’s in the cloud. LOL. It should be called “Castle in the Cloud”. But oh well. A boy, Pazu, helps Sheeta from a group of pirates and soldiers! If u want to watch an entertaining Studio Ghibli film, I highly recommend Castle in the Sky.

2. Whisper in my Hearts

There’s something about innocent love that I always cheer for. Shizuku and Seiji are a “couple” in that category. I love their relationship. I especially love Shizuku! She’s such a curious, blunt and stubborn girl. LOL. Gotta love their “Country Road” song!! I enjoy how simple and fun this film is. Sometimes, I find myself wondering if this should be my #1 Studio Ghibli film instead. 😉

1. Princess Mononoke

This is a fantasy story but damn, a very good one with so many meanings! 🙂 I LOVE Ashitaka!! He’s probably my favorite male Studio Ghibli character. San aka Mononoke, is also an amazing character as well! Ashitaka is a prince of his village, the Emishi people but ends up getting cursed by a demon on his arm. Since he’s cursed, he has to leave his village so his village won’t get cursed as well. This is sad because Ashitaka is the only prince for his people so for him to leave, they have no ruler. His Emishi people is also becoming a smaller group of people. Ashitaka leaves to find a way to get the curse out of him and the only way to do that is the find the person or thing that caused the curse. Once he leaves his village, he finds out that outside where he lives, there is a war going on, not just for human vs human, but also animal gods vs humans. Ashitaka is the neutral person, not wanting to take sides and trying his best to bring peace to everyone involved in the war. A movie about understanding perspective of others, war, life, love, peace…just an awesome movie!!! 🙂

Will Kim Bum & Kim So Eun ever make another K-drama together again?

About a month ago, I uploaded a music video I made of my favorite Korean drama couple, So Yi Jung (Kim Bum) and Chu Ga Eul (Kim So Eun) from Boys Over Flowers. To my surprise, the MV has over 4,200+ views and counting. If you’re one of the viewers, thanks for watching my MV! 😀 I was only expecting a few hundred the first month. So to have over 4k is awesome!! Glad to know that so many out there enjoy the MV! The main reason why I dedicated the MV to SoEul/BumSso (Kim Bum+So Eun) fans is because of their loyal support of this couple since Boys Over Flowers aired back in 2009. I’m amazed that even after 6 years, there are still so many shippers hoping for this couple to reunited on screen again. 🙂 Normally, shippers like this dies down after a year.

I’m also a believer that Kim Bum and So Eun had a secret dating/relationship during/after Boys Over Flowers. Here’s an amazing BumSso fansite with evidences supporting this theory: http://www.simply-love.net (check out the Trivia section). Although I’m not sure how long they were together, I’m assuming it must had been awhile. The last proof that they were still in contact was an article back in April 2013, when So Eun mention how Bummie and her still text and “see each other often”. “Often”, in case you didn’t know, means more than a few times. 😉

If they were still in a secret relationship 4 years later, that makes me very happy!! What’s disappointing is (if true), how they continue to keep it a secret for that long instead of making it public to declare their love. The first year, I can understand because they were young and didn’t want to ruin their career. But 4 years later?! Perhaps they always had an up and down relationship? Hence, it was risky coming out. Who knows.

Here’s the thing that makes me worry that they MIGHT of had a bad breakup? A few months after So Eun’s article, Bummie starred in Goddess of Fire with Lee Sang Yoon and Moon Geun Young. During filming, he fell head over heels for Moon. After filming was done, the couple didn’t waste any time and announced their status that they were dating. Then they took a month long trip together to Europe. This was the first public relationship for both of them. The first time I heard this story, for some reason, I felt that Bummie only agreed to make this public because Moon probably wanted to in order to avoid a scandal. She probably gave him an ultimatum: I will only date you if you agree to make it public. I know that in South Korea, Moon’s a big star (bigger than So Eun) and is known as the “Nation’s Little Sister”. The last thing she needs, is a bad rep. Bummie on the other hand, always seem to be a private guy when it comes to his love life. They also only dated for about 6-7 months. Of course, I have no proof that this is how it went down, but I like my chances of being right. 😛

I have no idea if Bummie was cheating on So Eun, or if they were actually friends for the last few months (years?) prior to his public relationship with Moon, but I would like to believe that they separated on good terms. Now to the question of this title: Will Kim Bum & So Eun ever make another k-drama together again?? Even if they separated on good terms, it’ll be very awkward (even more so during BOF) for them to film together again. Unless they are very good friends and feel comfortable enough to do be intimate on screen. I hope this is the case, so their feelings can revive and they can date again! 😉 If they had a bad breakup, then we will never see them in another k-drama. 😦 How would you feel doing an on screen relationship with a faithless ex-boyfriend?

Something I found interesting is how So Eun ended up in a k-drama called Liar Game a year later with Lee Sang Yoon (Lee played a lover of Moon’s character in Goddess of Fire). So Eun said during their press conference how she was disappointed her and Lee never had an on screen romance. Hmm….OK. LOL. I know to many, this statement may had been not much. But to me, I feel it almost came off to make Kim Bum jealous. As if So Eun secretly knew that Bummie was jealous of Lee during Goddess of Fire. Why not burn Bummie and have a love scene with Lee as well? Hehehe. Oh, So Eun!

With all that said, I still hold out hope that they will reunited again for us BumSso shippers. I’m hoping that Bummie dating Moon didn’t ruin his and So Eun’s relationship and that they are still good friends. I’d rather they be in a romantic relationship, but sadly, I think they are no longer an item. 😦 Wish I’m wrong though! I know the chances of them on screen again is very unlikely, but one can hope!!! 😉 Even if they end up never doing another drama together again, I will always support them. Avengers: F6

The Avengers has always been one of my favorite films (Captain America is my favorite Marvel character!) and with the second installment of Avengers: Age of Ultron being released this weekend, I went to watch it in the theater today. I saw it in 3D and am glad I did! Totally worth it with all the action scenes! There are also some funny parts and lines. Made me wonder if I was watching a comedy movie. LOL. Although I didn’t enjoy this film as much as part one, I still found it very entertaining.

A bit of spoiler here, but at point, the Avenger team had to go to Seoul, South Korea to fight the evil Ultron. Since I’ve been into Korean drama lately, it made me wonder if my F4 guys from Boys Over Flowers were the Avengers, how will they look like? So I did my best attempt on photoshopping them into some of the Avenger characters. Instead of F4, I made it into F6 to include my girls, Jan Di and Ga Eul. I’m totally digging my “poster”! 😀 Imagine this Avengers F6 team saving South Korea…or this world!?

My Psychological Analysis at its best…on Korean guys?!

The South Korean agency King Kong Entertainment that my favorite Korean actor, Kim Bum is in, recently uploaded this White Day promo teaser on their Youtube channel. (White Day is celebrated on March 14 in certain parts of the Asian countries. It is similar to Valentine’s day, except it’s the male’s turn to give candy/chocolate to the females.) The agency had 5 of their popular male actors (Yoo Yeon Suk, Kim Bum, Park Min Woo, Lee Dong Wook, and Lee Kwang Soo) package a gift with candies for White Day.

I can’t help but analysis how each guy (I’m a psychology major!) package their candies in the gift box. LOL. You usually can tell how someone’s personality is just by watching something as simple as this. 😉 I love you, Kim Bum (and your indoor sunglasses), but you and Lee Dong-wook are pretty impatient people. haha! Particularly Lee Dong-wook. I actually laughed how he just threw all the candies in the box. Park Min Woo is so organize and careful. 🙂 Yoo Yeon Suk, *sigh* I’ve been liking this guy for a while now and I really love his personality (plus, he’s cutie). For some reason, it seem like they gave him the most candies?? Because it took him a while to put all those candies in the gift box. Still, you can tell how gentle he was with each candy.  🙂  I wish they could had shown more of how Lee Kwang Soo package his candies, and what the heck is that big candy he had to put in the box?! It looks like a big size Lifesaver candy? He couldn’t even close the gift box because that candy! LOL But it was sweet how he wrote a note. 😉

Being someone from the states where we don’t celebrate White Day, I find it interesting that in Korea, it’s hard candies that are the main treat. The only time I get hard candy treats like that is on Halloween day. 😀

Special Flyer

I went to the local grocery store today and on the way back to my car after shopping, there was a flyer on my driver side door. I thought it was just another random flyer advertising or promoting about some company. To my surprise, it was a note that said:

I don’t think it was someone that was stalking me because all the other surrounding cars had one too. 😉 But this note definitely help make my day. To whomever that took time out of his/her life to print, go around and leave these notes for everyone, THANK YOU. You are also VERY SPECIAL! 🙂

San Diego Comic Con!!~

I’ve been wanting to go to San Diego Comic Con since 2007. Each year, the event becomes more popular that in recent years, it’s been difficult to purchase badges. It is a 4 days event held in the city of San Diego, CA that will be held on July 9 to 12 this year. Yesterday was the sale for the 2015 San Diego Comic Con badges! My brother, older sister, younger sister & her husband and I tried last year to get badges but had no such luck. This year, we tried again. About 20 minutes in the “waiting room” at the Comic Con site, I was one of the lucky ones and got in!! YAY 😀 Unfortunately, I can only purchase 3 badges and only got badges for my brother, older sister and I. My other sister and her husband weren’t lucky and will not be going. It really sucks they can’t attend with us! 😦 I’m hoping next year we get lucky again and all 5 of us will be able to attend. Badges were sold out in an hour this year. I think last year it was an hour and a half? Makes me worry how fast next year’s sale will be?

I’m just very happy that I am officially a SD Comic Con Badge holder now!!! 🙂 Been dreaming of going to this con for the longest time and it’s finally almost here. Now I can scratch this off my bucket list. Due to our budget, we are only going for 1 day (Friday) to the event. Even though we’re only spending 1 day at the event, we already have plans on what to do with other days we’re in San Diego. We’re staying in the city for 4 days. San Diego is actually the city I was born in. I don’t live there no more (I live in Northern California since I was a year old). But it’s always good visiting my birth town especially when it’s for Comic Con! ….Comic Con, here I come!!! XD

First post are usually the most boring

Back in the days (early 2000s), one of my favorite hobbies was making websites and  I had a personal website I made through Geocities.com (now Yahoo.com) of things I’m interested in. Making personal website was very popular back then since social media wasn’t a thing yet. I honestly don’t know what happen to that personal page because I haven’t been on it in forever. It’s probably gone now since Geocities doesn’t exist anymore. I’m not a pro at making websites. Like I said, it’s only a hobby, not something I do to make money off it. Lately, I’ve been in the mood of making a simple site again. It’s been over a decade since making a site and I’m too lazy to go re-learn MS Frontpage (I even took a college course on this software!) and decided WordPress seem like a good site. It’s free and easy to use. So here I am! 🙂

This will just be a blog site where I will post and occasionally make comments of things I like and is interested in. I don’t expect people to be here reading what I have to say so if you’re of the few that are, thanks! Hehe 😉 This is more of just a blog site that I’m making to satisfied myself. LOL…if that makes senses.
